Organizational behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups and structures have on behavior within an organization for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization’s effectiveness. Some of our generalizations may provide valid insights into human behavior, but many are erroneous. OB uses systematic study to improve predictions of behavior that would be made from intuition alone. Organization has its own culture that acts to shape the behavior of its members and the various organizational change and development techniques that managers can use to affect behavior for the organization’s benefit.
